Replacing Your Windows

Inland Power and Light, in partnership with the Bonneville Power Administration, is pleased to offer an incentive to members with electrically heated homes who are replacing qualifying windows and sliding glass doors with new energy efficient windows and patio doors.

Prime Window or Sliding Glass Door Replacement – $3 per square foot

Homes must be existing, electrically heated, single family or manufactured homes.

Prime windows must have an NFRC rated U-factor* of 0.30 or lower. Sliding glass doors must have an NFRC rated U-factor of 0.35 or lower.

Existing windows must be either double pane with a metal frame or a single pane window in any frame.

Windows can be self-installed or installed by a licensed contractor.

If windows are self-installed, before and after photos are required.

Contractor installed windows must have pre-existing window condition and U-factor of  newly installed windows clearly stated on their invoice.

Windows in unconditioned spaces, such as a garage or porch, do not qualify.

Windows in newly constructed homes do not qualify for this incentive.

Replacement installation that results in increased window area is not allowed under this program.

Window installations must meet applicable building codes to qualify

*The U-factor measures how well a product prevents heat from escaping. The lower the U-factor, the greater a window’s resistance to heat flow and the better its insulating value. The U-factor is included in the energy performance rating label offered by the National Fenestration Rating Council (NFRC).

Program Requirements

To qualify for this incentive you must be a current member of Inland Power & Light. Please fill out the attached form in its entirety and return to Inland Power with a dated copy of your invoice and documentation indicating U-factor rating for each window installed. For self installs, also include before and after photos.

Contractor installed windows must have pre-existing window conditions (i.e. Double pane/Metal frame or Single pane windows) and U-factor rating of newly installed windows clearly stated on their invoice.

Requests for rebates must be received within 90 days of purchase. Inland Power and Light reserves the right to inspect and verify all window installations.

Please allow four to six weeks for processing. This program is subject to change without notice.
