THE BENEFITS OF ENERGY-EFFICIENT APPLIANCES

Energy Star appliances, such as clothes washers and dryers, use less energy and water than standard appliances. Although they cost a little more at purchase, the up-front costs are made up with savings on the consumer's utility bill in just a few years.

Clothes washers

Energy Star certified clothes washers use 25 percent less energy and approximately 33 percent less water than standard models, using a variety of sophisticated cleaning methods. When selecting an Energy Star appliance, select a model with a high CEE Tier. CEE ratings are based on energy and water consumption. CEE Tiers 2 & 3 exceed Energy Star’s efficiency requirements for new washers.

Electric clothes dryers

Energy Star certified dryers use 20 percent less energy than conventional models without sacrificing features or performance. They do this using innovative energy saving technologies, such as moisture sensors that detect when clothes are dry and automatically shut the dryer off.

QUALIFYING DETAILS

To qualify for a rebate you must be a current member of Inland Power & Light and have purchased an Energy Star certified appliance model (or appropriate CEE ratings as noted). Requests for rebates must be received within 90 days of purchase with a copy of the receipt or invoice showing the date of purchase, model number and cost of the purchase. Please allow 4-6 weeks for processing. Water heaters that run on fossil fuels do not apply. These programs are subject to change without notice.
