SALARY RANGE: $20.69 - 25.87 PER HOUR

HOURS: PART TIME - APPROXIMATELY 20 HOURS PER WEEK

PURPOSE OF POSITION
This position provides support to the real estate specialist in maintaining and filing easements for Inland Power. Inland Power & Light Co. has acquired thousands of right-of-way easements over the course of its 80-year history. The organization and recording of these easements has become a priority. This position will provide administrative support to the operations department for completing the easement project.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist the real estate specialist with right-of-way easement organization.

Maintain a filing system in various degrees of completion. This includes digital and hard copies.

Digitally scan easements and correct as required within the scanning database.

Become proficient within the cooperative’s mapping system.

Keep progress records on status of easement project.

Learn the fundamentals of electric utility easements and property legal descriptions.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Competency in Microsoft Office software applications (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint & Outlook) and the ability to learn other software applications.

Excellent oral and writing skills required.

Detail oriented.

Other combinations of education and experience may be considered.
Preferred Job Qualifications

Previous utility experience.

Knowledge of rural electrification and cooperative programs.

Must be able to work and communicate effectively with the operations and engineering departments’ personnel to ensure the efficiency of the duties required by all personnel in the departments

Must be flexible, organized, creative, and a self-starter, with the ability to assess and solve problems.
Occupational/Technical Skills

Proficient computer skills including Word processing and Excel spreadsheets.

Knowledge of real estate or land services.

Work Environment

Most work shall be performed in an office setting, with some field work required when obtaining necessary information from outside firms and agencies. Some work may be performed outdoors under various conditions of weather and terrain.

Job requires climbing stairs to mezzanine.

Occasionally bending, squatting and lifting boxes to 20 lbs.

Use of office machines, including computer monitor, keyboard, mouse and related peripheral devices.
The easement clerk shall have full authority to carry out these duties and responsibilities in conformity with established policies and procedures and shall utilize time in such a way as to fulfill the objectives of this position and the cooperative.
