Recycle Your Old Refrigerator or Freezer and Receive $30Inland Power and Light’s Appliance Recycling Program offers our members an incentive to dispose of their inefficient and older yet still operational refrigerators and freezers in an environmentally safe manner. The program pays $30 to our members willing to give up their old refrigerators and freezers. It also offers a convenient way to safely recycle these units and help save money on their utility bill. Older appliances can use three to four times more electricity than new models, eating up hundreds of dollars in utility expenses. It’s also good for the environment. In fact, a single older refrigerator actually does as much damage to the environment as two cars can do in a year. That’s one more good reason to let us recycle your old appliance. It’s easy for members to participate. Inland’s program partner, JACO Environmental, picks up qualifying units* from customers right at their homes when they call for a collection. The collected appliances are then recycled at a JACO Environmental facility in Spokane, WA, according to the latest guidelines from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. Approximately 95 percent of each refrigerator or freezer is recycled. For more details or to schedule an appliance pick-up, Inland members can call toll-free 1-877-577-0510 or click on the “SIGN UP NOW” link above. To help streamline processing, please have your Inland account number available when making the request. * To have a refrigerator or freezer picked up and recycled, it needs to be in working condition and between 10 to 30 cubic feet in size. Units must also be 1995 models or older. The program is for Inland Power and Light customers only. You must own the unit(s) being recycled, with a pickup limit of two units per account annually. The $30 incentive check will be mailed to you within 4 to 6 weeks after the appliance collection.
