All irrigation rebate requests must be pre-authorized by contacting the conservation department at (509) 789-1801. Once approved, your rebate will be assigned a confirmation number which will reserve funding for a 90-day period. Installation must be completed and required documentation must be received within this reserved time period to be eligible.

Variable Frequency Drives in Agricultural Hardware Applications Requirements and Specifications This measure applies to pumping operations that deliver, distribute or transport irrigation water with VFDs 500 hp or less. Eligible installations include turbine pumps with substantial variation in flow rates (e.g., 20% or more) or discharge pressure requirements (e.g., 10% or more). This measure provides an annual energy savings of 400 kWh per hp per VFD. New VFD installations must meet IEEE 519 standards. Note: Effective October 1, 2010 only turbine pumps will qualify. Variable Frequency Drives on Small Milking Machines in Dairies (CPN; WTP) Inland will credit/reimburse $2,200 for verified installations of Variable Frequency Drives (VFD) on milking machines of 10 HP or less. For larger sized machines, a custom proposal with Measurement and Verification (M&V) will still be required. Custom Project Proposals For other agricultural measures, Inland will credit/reimburse up to 15 cents/kWh not to exceed 70 percent of project cost for measures including the following, but not limited to: - Low pressure conversion with pump work
Change to 40 foot spacing on hand lines and wheel lines to enable conversion - Low energy precision application (LEPA) conversion for pivots and lateral moves
- Adjustable speed drives in certain applications (multiple-valved sprinkler systems and field elevation differences of 25 feet or greater)
The cost of the technical studies needed to accomplish the project is assumed to be covered in the Inland credit/reimbursement amount and in the total project cost for purposes of cost-capping. Custom projects must be submitted to Inland for review and have BPA approval prior to the purchase of the equipment and installation of the measure.
